Memo from the Q100 Program Director

Attention to all my followers. Since I'm not even really the boss at my station, I'll have to preach my gospel to my crew of interns, part-timers, and the couple of full time disc jockeys at the station. Unfortunately, I can't include the morning show to list of people who work under me. I went in to ask if I could aircheck them and they laughed - dammit!

We are in critical need of finding a new excuse to explain why we have been on the air for almost 5 years and can't get noticed by anyone except FMFREQ (which happens to be myself) and KILL ME (a disgruntled former 955 the Beat board op).

We will need a new excuse in place before November first to try to keep our new owners at bay when they take over. Susquehanna really let the signal excuse keep me in my job a lot longer than I would have, I sure did pull one over on them (evil laugh).

Maybe I should re-think my strategy. Rather than spending most of my time talking smack about other top rated stations like Star and the Beat, I should pick on someone of my own caliber like The Buzz or WAMJ (i don't even know who they are and they are on my heals, YIKES!).

Please help me figure out what excuse I should start using soon so I can keep my job. I'm leaning towards using this one "the 29th promotions director at the station since I've been here thought this smyrnabration thing was going to be such a huge fall book promotion, that it would take us to the next level". If it works I'm gonna trademark "Cumming Fiesta" for the spring.

I'm counting on my followers to help me - don't let me down!

This signal increase is gonna be awesome. Now people will be able to hear how much we suck with crystal clear reception.

Well, signal problems notwithstanding, you managed to tie your Susquehanna sister for this trend (12+ share at least)... weigh the use of the word "suck" very carefully...

Say what you want to about Q100. But I will defend their PD in one respect. Of all the self professed radio gods in Atlanta, in operations big and small, he was the only one that bothered to reply to an inquirty about employment. It's not much but does show at least from a nice guy standpoint, he has credibility.

Amazing - there are 2 people on here that support Q - and according to everyone we work for them. But any positives said about any other station - no such allegations are made. What gives? Why such anger to Q100 - it baffles me.

Well 99x has spinning down for years. I'll give Q100 tons of credit there. They do very well with what they have. I think the power increase will make both stations work a little harder.

Now all we need is a station to help 96rock not suck so badly. I hear baseball wasn't the savior.

I agree. I would've beleived it if:

1. He signed as the actual PD instead of "Q100-PD" (meaning he knew what he was talking about) or

2. His 8 posts to radio info could've be summarized as
a. "Who cares... Both Bert and Q100 are wasting their time. "
b. "Q100 is the most hyped station in America."
c. "Get ready. Before the end of the month JACK will invade Atlanta radio." This was in April, way to predict
d. "Star 94 took a nail..... "
e. "Since the Q100 attention diverters tried to take these facts I posted and water down the thread..." He then complained to the mods
f. "Dillon - I see it took a long 48 hours to find a morsel of facts to show that there is still a faint heartbeat that is fading quickly." Dillon..what?
g. "Don't get too excited about 99X just yet..."
h. The memo

In summation, 8 posts, 75 percent of which are bashing Q, one post spouting expertise on X's numbers, and a BRILLANT look into the future about Jack.
