Memo to WIP: Please Update The Ads On Your Stream!

It's great to be able to hear WIP online. However, I can't help but harp on some of the advertisements that run on the stream during commercial breaks that are, well, let me just say, a little outdated.

Some examples:

A car dealership, which shall remain nameless, whose spot begins with the following line: "Start the year off great in 2008..."
A spot for another company that shall also remain nameless, voiced by Anthony Gargano, whose read starts with this line: "The leaves are beginning to change..." It also refers to a charity event on "October 26th."
But the biggest humdinger of them all, a real estate firm, which lists seminar dates in the final week of August. What's more, the ad starts with: "Last month..." Which, in the end, is a reference to July!

Now, granted, I've heard new spots including one for Borgata, and their upcoming comedy shows in February. But they owe it to their advertisers, as well as their listeners, to come up with new, updated spots for the online stream.

A little off the topic but also a little bit on: I recently heard a spot on 99.5 WJBR imploring us to get tickets for the "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity to see Dionne Warwick perform and which then proceeded to give two separate dates on which one could attend that "once-in-a-lifetime" event.

That's the Philadelphia Public School system at work.... No wonder they are desperate to keep local college graduates in the city. How does whomever wrote that copy still have a job, while I remain unemployed?

I've been meaning to post this, so in an effort to get back on topic: Within a day or so after this thread was posted, I heard a new holiday spot on the WIP stream for one of the aforementioned advertisers in question.

Of course, the question now is, how long *that* spot will run on the stream... :D

Well, lookee here... Just as I suspected: We're now over a month removed from Christmas, and on the WIP stream, I still hear the same exact spot for the real estate company in question A) with that same Mannheim Steamroller song in the background, and most importantly, B) promoting the same dates in January that have long passed by.

Meanwhile, over on the stream of sister station, I hear a much-updated, very current spot for the same real estate company. Why can't they duplicate that one over to the WIP stream, as well? You know they're already paying to have spots run on both streams, you might as well go with whatever is recent!

Now watch - just like the original peeve in this thread, I will start hearing the newer spot on the WIP stream in less than 24 hours... ;)
