Memories of Dave Reinhart

The only time I got to hear him was on Saturday Mornings at 10 on WLW in the mid 80's. Anyone who has more to share, please do. R.I.P. Dave. You are missed.

A nice tribute to him today on Willie's show during a call with Dusty Rhodes.

It should be remembered that in addition to his DJ work at WSAI and his later position as Program Director at WLW, Dave also did the play-by-play of high school football games on WCET, Channel 48 in the mid-1970's. The games were video taped and then aired a few hours later. The delay not only enabled fans who had been on hand but the players, themselves, to view the contest.

Dave was always a complete professional as an announcer, management representative and person.

Count me in with nothing but good things to say about Dave. That's standard for people who have just died, so let's all emphasize that this is always how everybody talked about him. A first rate pro and a first rate person.

WDJO's Marty Thompson had a great tribute for Dave Reinhart yesterday along with WSAI Dave Reinhart air checks, Dave was truely a good friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, from his WSAI days thru the years that followed. He will be missed.

To me, Dave sits in the same class as Dusty. And, he has been credited with lifting WLW back to prominence in the 80's. (I can remember things before he got there - I remember a book before "The Big One" came along that had WLW at a 5.6 share 12 plus...putting them in, I think it was 7th place.)

Dave was a great jock, a creative, darned good manager. And he will be missed.

I wish I had a copy of the picture of Dave when they opened the huge bottle of champagne to celebrate the 13.9 12+ book. He looked like he could just bust.
