How low can the Buzz go? I would not be surprised if they're on the list of New Year's format changes this weekend.
______________

Ditto. The Buzz has a ful market signal, and no excuse to be performing so low.

And apparently they're staying with a sinking ship. Ad on all access for a permanent weekend jock. So, with heads buried deep in the sand they continue on this witless quest to gain ratings with HotAC. Does anyone at Entercom listen? At all?

This is turning into a 5 year rant.

Now, with 790 apparently going classic country (good move since they were going nowhere with sports), it appears Entercom has blown another good opportunity to do something productive with 94.1. Well... it's not too late.

Naaah, they ain't listening.

The silence is deafening from Ridgeway.

I really think that any move that 790 makes is not going to change any plans already in the works for 94.1. As for the ad for a weekend jock, do you really think Entercom is going to tell anyone locally about a change before they just show up on Monday with brooms and cowboy hats? Doubt it.

Entercom, wake up! Country on 94.1 would be a MUCH better combo buy with WRVR, and a great way to keep WRVR #1 non-ethnic 25-54 with KIX pre-occupied with an FM competitor.

And why not? KIX is the #1 biller in town. Take the shine off that, and WRVR can claim that title. That's what they did to FM 100 with The Buzz, but that's over and done with. Entercom can do this right, by putting on a better product than KIX. KIX is a very average radio station, that has a format all to itself. KIX wins by default. 94.1 heading back to the format (without any goofy "Froggy" references) could change all that.

No, No. I was responding to your "They ain't listening" comment. I agree with you, and I think something's in the works. Maybe not country, but something.

Actually, that was Mr. West who said that. No sweat. I'm positive that someone is listening at Entercom, but they aren't saying much.

My money is still on Country coming back, everything else is just too fragmented to be that successful.

And we've discussed that point ad nauseum for the last 5 years. Your comment is exactly the reasoning that Sinclair used to take 94.1 Country back in the 90s. It worked, and would have continued to work had Entercom not come in with a prejudice against the format. When they took over they cut the promotion budget to bare bones (someone simply ask Molly Miller or Jeff Webb about that), and cut the legs off the Frog. All that needed to happen was to get away from the frog-isms and simply re-brand.

94.1 - AAA?

AAA

Dr. Flinn hasn't gotten around to putting Pig back on 107.5 so Entercom has a chance to play. And, with 50kw, there's actually a chance for it to work.

Hey, that would mean another gig for Mitch McCracken!
______________

Haha, I'm sure I haven't endeared myself to Mr. Brad... every one of my suggestions has been to something other than what he's programming. Sorry dude, nothing personal.

If so I'll be surprised, given Entercom's obvious disdain for Country. I don't think they even have a brand manager for that format yet. They didn't a couple of years ago.

County is a fragmented format... Today you've got the wannabe popstars, the guys with the pro-war and redneck anthems, and maybe a few real artist that stil turn out actual country... so much for not being fragmented.
