Interesting that the Memphis Book has been out for a few days, and no one has made mention of it.But, be that as it may... I won't run through the ratings here; ya'll are as capable of looking them up as I am. And, there are really no surprises after seeing the trends. But, I do have a thought that might be interesting fodder for discussion. I have been in this town since 1991. Never before -- that I can remember, anyway -- have we had such a cluster of stations that have fallen into a hole they seemingly can't get out of. We have a impressive group of big-stick stations that are stuck in the sub-3 or near-3 level; while I don't have in-demo numbers, I can't imagine they are much better. Some of these stations were once major players, or have the potential to be.I won't get into specific stations. That tends to be a bit ghoulish, and I see no joy in discussing it. But, one might argue that the coming year could be an interesting one. Owners of these problem-child stations can't sit where they are forever; they have way too much debt to service. Could a crop of changes take place all at once?Hmmm...DE
