Merced Getting Second Country Radio Station!

According to All Access, Mapleton Communication's KHPO-106.3 will be switching soon from Classic Hits to Country "106.3 HANK-FM". Brian Montgomery, former APD/MD/ Afternoon DJ of KUBB-96.3 will program the ne "HANK-FM". Will be interesting if a market the size of Merced can handle two country stations? KUBB is a longtime country powerhouse in Merced. Kind of like KUZZ in Bakersfield.

YEE HAWW!!! It's a Country Version of Jack.. Actually a good idea and a smart move to hire the MD/Afternoon guy from KUBB!!

but isn't that the guy who is very hard to understand? ??? ??? ???

Hmm... Anyone who has listened to KUBB knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about.

HANK 106.3 FM is now on the air!! Listened to it a bit last night, unsure if the format is fed off a bird or locally automated.. The station does focus alot on 90's Country and I noticed that it flipped sometime yesterday afternoon (which seemed odd that a station would flip on a Saturday afternoon) but it is definitely an improvement over the previous format.
