Mercer County, NJ HDTV

In Mercer County (Trenton, NJ area) your choices for HDTV service may be the best in the entire area. Did you see Verizon Fios TV carries both New York and Philadelphia channels in SD and HDTV. Cablevision and Comcast carry the Analog singals from both cities but the HD singals are only from one city or the other, but Verizon carries both. Lots of Programming choices and Sports in HD from NY and Philly Networks.

801 - WPIX HD CW New York
802 - WCBS HD CBS New York
803 - WNET HD PBS New York
804 - WNBC HD NBC New York
805 - WNYW HD FOX New York
807 - WABC HD ABC New York
809 - WWOR HD MY New York
810 - WCAU HD NBC Philadelphia
811 - KYW HD CBS Philadelphia
812 - WHYY HD PBS Philadelphia
813 - WTXF HD FOX Philadelphia
814 - WPVI HD ABC Philadelphia
815 - WNJT HD PBS Trenton
816 - WPSG HD CW Philadelphia
817 - WPHL HD MY Philadelphia

I wish I had the HD selection of local HD channel like Mercer County does.

That's impressive. Cablevision also does a great job with the HD sports choices, but Comcast can't seem to even offer all the channels from NY and Philly (just ask the folks in Ocean County, Middlesex, or Warren, who are getting their channels sent up the the digital tier.)

Verizon may win in the number of NY and Philly channels. Comcast isn't into rounding out the local channel lineups, the same way Verizon is. But Comcast has its strong points, including what I think is a better On-Demand service.

Mercer County has always been a great area for local channels. I think Verizon in Howard County carries both Baltimore and the big 4 (ABC, NBC, CBS, Fox) from D.C. in HDTV as well.

In Mercer County, it gets a bit messy with the RSNs however - no CSN Philly on Dish and DirecTV, Yankees and Mets blacked out on Dish and DirecTV, Patriot Media[Princeton] not carrying CSN Philly, Dish Network not carrying YES (altogether), and from what I understand not providing NY/NJ NBA and NHL (from MSG and FSNY) to Mercer County subscribers.

The Comcast Trenton, Cablevision Hamilton and possibly Verizon systems are without RSN issues.

I think Cablevision is better (than Comcast or Verizon) for international channels, but they are known to be more expensive.

The Cablevision in Edison charges $4.99 for movie PPV -- I think Comcast and Verizon are at $3.99 for most if not all systems.
