Meriden Mountain goes down briefly

Just before 2:55PM this afternoon until just after 2:56PM all the stations on Meriden Mountain except WMRQ 104.1 (I forgot to check WKSS 95.7) went down. WDRC-FM 102.9, WZMX 93.7, WHCN 105.9, WWYZ 92.5, and WPKT 90.5 were all off the air.

I know things happen and it was only for about 90 seconds, but I think it is major news when 5 major FM stations in a market go off the air.

For 90 seconds? It's not.

I hear they're finally building out the CP for the new WMRQ antenna system, I'm sure it had something to do with that.

Not for 90 seconds it wasn't.

It was a power hit, simple as that.

Not a big deal.

I presume that this is a reference to West Peak?

Yes it is. I couldn't remember what it was called. Some of my co-workers live in Meriden. They just call it Meriden Mountain.

And Meriden Mountain has two peaks. On East Peak stands the turn-of-the-20th-century tower known as Castle Craig.
