Both Hosts of the Today show will have originated at WJAR in the late 70's.
Would love to see the clip of Matt Lauer getting kicked in the Privates again by the gymnest.
Not........

And Matt did some time at Channel 7 in the WNEV era, as the host of "New England Today". He succeeded Bill O'Reilly in the role (when the show was known as "Look".) Unfortunatly I don't have tape of either show.

Hopefully we'll get to see Merideth & Matt talk about their RI days
at WJAR-TV.

Re: Matt Lauer

Matt Lauer's show at the old WNEV-7 was a talk-show titled "Talk of The Town", and was broadcast for about six months in 1988.

Good memory, wasn't it in the 10am-11am slot where WHDH now airs
third hour of Today show?

O'Reilly was hosting New England Afternoon which replaced Look.
You're talking 1982-1984 period. Matt didn't get to WNEV until 1988 and
only for a few months hosting a late morning show. O'Reilly was long
from gone from 7 by the time Matt came up from Philly.

Re: Matt Lauer

To answer Randy Simon's question, "Talk Of The Town" indeed ran from 10 to 11 A.M. weekday mornings.
