Meridian Media Group To Expand In Meridian MS

Meridian Community College is selling Soft AC “106.9 The Eagle” WEXR Stonewall/Meridian MS to Bryan Holladay’s Meridian Media Group for $10.

WEXR will join Holladay’s cluster in Meridian as he prepares to close on his acquisition of
Classic Hits “97.9 The Buzz” WKZB Newton, News/Talk 102.1 WALT-FM Meridian, and Classic Country “105.7 The Legend” WUCL De Kalb from Burke Broadcasting for the assumption of the remainder of the $450,000 note due to Holladay’s uncle Robert Holladay’s New South Communications. Burke handled the sales functions of WEXR under a JSA.

And the Holladays strengthen their virtual monopoly on Meridian radio. I simply don't see how this is a good thing.
