You know ever since I joined this fraternity of brotherhood known as DJ's all I see here in the Meridian market is a bunch of bickering between two radio clusters in which none of the jocks really have any heresay or pull. If you do, congrats you are one of the few, but for the majority of us... WHAT THE HECK are we bickering over petty nonsense when none of us (that I know of ) have the $$$$$ or authority to control what goes on @ our stations. Yeah I like competition, THRIVE ON IT... but why should I belittle a competitor because they are beating me whether on the books or on the air... YOU KNOW WHAT YOU DO?... FREAKING change something about your show, delivery, whatever... but don't belittle the owner, etc. YOU know why?... You might be looking for a job one day and guess what?.. That job might come from your competition.. Yeah.. we all joke & kid but some of you, man I don't know. I can honestly say that I have worked for the Pierces (APEX), the Holladays ( Radio People), Clear Channel, URBan, etc. They all have their pros & cons but in joking I might say something about a competitior.. but to say it publicly? Nawww.. and I have said things to a competitors face... REPLY:.. "well that's what they want" but yet some are making this personal.. and well you know what?.. Makes MERIDIAN market look bad. Like I said I have worked them all here in Meridian.. and yes while I don't agree with eveyones "CONSULTING" ideas I don't publicly denounce the jock or station. You know what sooooo what if a station flip flops format... is it a law to find the right niche for a jock or radio station? I don't remember seeing one. DR John Anthony can tell you a story of what happened to a tight relationship him & I had.. you know what? We both got over it and to this day I still consider him one of my mentors and HE WORKS with the RADIO PEOPLE and I'm with URBan. I don't know guys imagine what the other markets are thinking.... mmmm. all I can say is as a jock I can only do what I am allowed to do and try to do it to the best of my ability. I respect and like all the jocks around here and I don't want a name of a company ruin that.. anyways.. that's what's on my mind for this day... and like the great PAUL HARVEY would say..... "GOOD DAY"
