MERRY CHRISTMAS/HAPPY HOLIDAYS/SAM LIGUORI

Good morning, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
Working this Christmas Day BUT my Christmas Eve was
spectacular. Chugging from Wilkes Barre to Archbald
to Pittston then coming back to Wilkes Barre last night
I was tuning the FM/AM dial as Santa and I made the
rounds. A few surprises, at least to me. I tuned in
Junior 93.7 and heard Sam Liquori doing a Legends
program of Country Music Stars. Being a devotee of
Shadoe Steele, I never listen to anything else. Was
Sam filling in or does he do this every week? Sam has
been in the business since the early 60s working at
WPTS, WBAX, WARD, and WARM doing Polkas (UHH, Polkas
on WARM!! disgusting!!!) and being Kevin Lynn's board
op.
I was disappointed to see WVIA FM go to Jazz programming
after midnight. It was okay but not compelling.
WICK's programming during the day was very good too.
Anyway, have a great season.

Maybe on your radio; on mine, it went to dead air until 12:59:something when it joined the bird for Jazz After Hours. WNAK's been playing a very nice program from Mannheim Steamroller with varied artists; I heard it late last night and also this morning when returning from Mass. I don't know how long the program was, but it was enjoyable. My show opened and closed with "Carol of the Bells," by Paul Winter from his "December" CD; I forgot to play my cut of Dear Abby's "Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus." (Virginia O'Hanlon ended up as a teacher and died in 1971.)

YONK:
To answer your question (since nobody here seems to be able to do that) Sam has been doing this on Saturday nights since last summer. Since you are a Shadow Steele groupie, you would not have known this since he is on at the same time. A good show for Sam to do, something the guys at JR should have been doing from the start, but he's only on from 7-10.

Thanks for the info. Not ever a C&W fan so I never tuned in
Junior except to hear Keith Edwards humor in the Mornings before
they yanked him. Will switch over to Sam when Shadoe gets the
weekly requests for "Rocky", "Seasons In The Sun" and "Convoy".
