The Rose is my favorite station in the whole state of PA and beyond but that will truly take them down a noch or two. They sound great and I understand November but October? A little too early for me.
Here I come WPLJ when this happens!!!
Of course, I will return to the Rose when they are done their XMAS music. Love them, gotta have them.

Dear Mr. Kitchen (or may I call you Hells):
Realradioguy is just having some fun. I only do fill-in at the Rose, and am not privy to high-level programming decisions, but I think I can assure you that the Rose will not start playing Christmas music in October!
I also work at WLIF in Baltimore, which goes wall-to-wall Christmas every year as well. Something I’ve observed about listener reaction to Christmas music: whenever you start playing holiday tunes, even just one every couple of hours, people call and complain, saying it’s too early. But within two or three days, your studio lines are jammed with Christmas requests, and they stay that way through December 25th at least.
Personally, I enjoy it. When else am I going to be able to play people like Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Dean Martin and the like, some of the greatest entertainers of the 20th century. And when I get to play Spike Jones’ “All I Want for Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth,“ the room shakes! It’s a nice change of pace and a great way to interact with listeners. At WLIF, we are encouraged to put people on the air to talk about their holiday memories. People really get into it.
And really, if it didn’t work, nobody would be doing it.
Thanks for listening to the Rose on-line in Delaware…and Merry Christmas!
