Merry Christmas to my fellow standards enthusiasts!

This time of year, heartfelt feelings seem to rise to the surface. So, I'd like to tell the wonderful posters here how much I appreciate your sharing your thoughts on our music and a particular style of radio that, sadly, is heard less and less these days.

It's radio with a certain elegance, gentility, and a warm, conversational presentation that communicates a shared enthusiam for our music.

We may have different perspectives on what "standards" radio should be, but nevertheless we're a bunch who thinks that radio was a little better, and a lot more listenable in days gone by.

I'm glad you guys are here. Your presence lets me know that I'm not a lone wolf in my passion for the great songs and great air personalities who've brought them to us.

All the best in '08 to you folks!

Nick Gerard

Happy holidays to you, Nick -- I enjoy your posts here and I share your enthusiasm and appreciation for the standards format.

All the best to you and to all our "standards" brothers and sisters in 2008!
