Merry Fez-Mas!

On behalf of the entire staff and mis-management of the Buckeye Media Hut, Nurse Jeff and I wish everyone our very best this holiday season. If you have time, stop by the Media Hut where we'll be serving figgy pudding and the Nurse's infamous hot buttered rum (which tastes better without the hot buttered part). Plus the Old Gringo will be telling stories of Fez-mases gone by when Ancient Modulation ruled the desert and Clear Channel referred to a class 1-A station. Look for the giant hot air fez off I-10 in Buckeye!

My regen AM-only pow, pow, power desktop radio and space heater must be in its last years of service because when I tune the Buckeye Media Hut I get fuzz-mas instead of Fez-Mas. Or maybe the BMH hasn't yet turned off its IBOC?

I'm still laughing about the "Hell Hath No Fury" chili-gotta see what happens with the figgy pudding. Or maybe I don't want to. Anyway, Happy Holidays everyone! :)

Here is hoping that you can get a low riding hydraulic system for the Gremlin, and that you find a nice lamp timer under your tree.

The good lord willing..the creek don't rise and the Russians don't drop the big one...

Adding to the hot air* I think I remember when the AM station in Jerome was one of only 5 or 6 stations in Arizona...

* Why is there a shortage of hot air in December, while there is way too much of it in July and August.?

Scrooge will bring many lay offs ...pray to the radio Angels.... was that a thundershirt Barry the nearly hairless one got for xmas? goes on your dog

Merry Fez-mas to you too Doc!

As the year 2012 comes to a close, one has to ask, what was the biggest surprise of the year in Phoenix radio? My vote goes to the Lumberyard for finally beginning to broadcast at night with their new Nautel transmitter. Any other votes for everybody's favorite Lamptimer? :)

Biggest surprise of the year? That "We Are Young" and "Somebody I Used To Know" were so inescapable over so many formats in 2012. Maybe 2013 will be the Second Year Punk Broke like back in the 90's. One can hope.

I am surprised at how much I'm digging 960 AM, specifically Dennis Miller's show. He had Judd Apatow on last week. Judd Freakin' Apatow. On 960 AM. That station.

I am surprised at how unlistenably bad the programming at 92.3 has become - all monologue, all the time - and just as surprised that so many people seem ambivalent to the fact that listener calls were always -always - from idiots, which is why "talk radio" was so entertaining to begin with. I find it difficult to believe that the likes of Preston Westmoreland, et al, fielded calls from Ph.D's and then, uh-oh, where did all the smart callers suddenly disppear to? We can't have this new class of morons calling in!

Merry Fez-Mas, everyone! :)

And back at ya, Jorge de ASU!

The Nurse and I got a Fez-Mas card from catfish (lower case c) and he told us Gumpdusky has permission from the FCC to go paintless and lightless at the Tower of Pow-Pow-Power next to the Lumberyard. While that stick probably hasn't seen a coat of paint in over 20 years, we imagine the Goldminers don't care as they've been working in the dark anyway. The only loser in this change has to be SRP...that monthly tower light bill probably came to $200. And they sure aren't making much money after dark on a hi-efficiency Nautel runnning at 52 watts ;)

Nurse Jeff and I look forward to seeing you at the BMH as we roast our chestnuts over an open fire (ADEQ approved days only).

Merry Fez-mas!

Will the Morning Mayor be there? ;D

I hope the lady from the Express Flooring commercial is there, too, singing "Santa Baby." She sure is a good singer.
When I heard about that law that went into effect this month where commercials can't be loud anymore, I was pretty disappointed.
I'll really miss her singing loudly.

1-800-EXPRESS!!!

Given this last year's events, I think that is spelled "Mourning Mayor" now.

Barbecues suck when it is cold out. Especially when you must present your papers on entry.

Dennis Miller is too cool for the dinosaur 960, but he has had to massively tone down his hip to be easily digestible by the 70 something right wing crowd that might happen on his show after listening to the Hugh Hewitt cheerleader show.

Agreed - I wish Bonneville could buy out his contract from Salem and move him to 92.3. That way, they (92.3) would have more grounds to claim their PPM's really favor 20-40's like they're insisting. I'm just dreading their moldie-oldie fruitcake flip. Will have to do WITHOUT any news updates the next 2 days.

Speaking of conservative syndicated talk, Michael Savage gets a stronger syndication deal, and ends up on hamster-powered-at-night 1260 and the unlistenable 96.1 translator. That's a step down from KFNX, even with the Colon Blow lead-in he used to have.

I think the Dr. should move his Media Hut from Buckeye to Apache Junction, right next to 1260's (and soon 1340's) short stick!

Hoping you got the gift certificates I sent you and Nurse Jeff for a new suit and Fez at Don Weenower's Gay Apparel in Scottsdale.

Merry X-MAS to you, yours, and Aunt Edna in Sun City.

Looks like 960 is sending Dennis Miller to radio Siberia again, and bringing in the nasal screamer at 7 pm.

How does a terrible station like this survive?
