Does anyone know if the Merv Griffin Show theme is on CD or mp3?

i too have been looking for the theme to the merv griffin show, but to no avail. i hope someone lets us know where to find it soon.

if you go to THE GRIFFIN GROUP website .the theme plays in full

...question is, *which* theme? As I recall, he had two theme tunes for his Metromedia show (the first was at a quicker tempo but he changed it because his band's horn section found it a bit tough to play) and his CBS and Westinghouse shows had their own opening music as well...

Good question.

When I was in high school in the mid-60's I came home and watched Merv's variety show on WNBQ channel 5, Chicago. Arthur Treacher was the announcer. He woulds say "from the Little Theatre in Time Square - Here's MERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRvin"

About 7 or 8 years later I watched the independent UHF tv station in Mishawaka. IN(?) that was owned by a short preacher (name forgotten) who talked about "the 90 and 9." They also talked about how they had a very tall tower.

The station was very well programmed but had NO commercials. I believe I read that they went broke. Unsure about call letters. Was it WHMI?

Google is not helping any.

As I remember, 6-7 was Rocky & Bullwiinkle and another cartoon strip (maybe Huckleberry Hound). 7-8pm was Petticoat Junction and Green Acres. They showed Wait Til Your Father Gets Home on occasion, and Merv was stripped for an hour at 8pm. They also ran PTL (I think twice an evening).

Can anybody else remember this?

I think you were thinking about WHME, in South Bend, Indiana (Mishawaka is its suburb); that station, part of the LeSEA empire since it signed on, is still alive and well, and still programming religious and general.

The music on merv.com is what I am looking for, but the quality sounds like a telephone underwater.
