It's been silent around here. The troops arrived to help TW (Train Wreck). Why so silent? Could it be "Silent Night, Holy Night."

A more appropriate song for Stoopertalk and the 8 9 5 at this time maybe (you can almost hear it being sung in the halls at the 8 9 5), "In my hour of need, truly I'm indeed...ALONE AGAIN...NATURALLY." :'(

One thing I'm sure you all know is no matter where you work or what format you work in. There will always be haters. (For those who don't know what a hater is...HAHA.. someone who strongly dislikes you and speaks badly about you. LOL!) Usually your haters are the ones who give you the most ratings. I had a conversation recently with a retired “broadcast executive” [one whose former job description WASN’T an OXYMORON] and much like Elephant—prefers “the beach” to “the trenches”.

He observed: “The three boards at Radio-Info that reinforce my rationale for retirement MOST are; Atlanta, Indiana, and CINCINNATI... Read them regularly, and you will quickly-conclude that no format [save Country Music on FM and Conservative Bluster on a 50kw AM] are safe for order-takers cruising Agency Row... The unfortunate concept of Corporate Radio demands the mathematical power of TWO in those places... and VERY-FEW appear confident and fulfilled within their employment – IF they ARE—they dare-not post. I hope advertising executives [the ones who actually MAKE DECISIONS rather than SELLING THEM] don’t stumble onto those boards while comparing Radio with its alternatives in ANY significant ad campaign. Those boards lend an uncomplimentary impression to the business in those places.”
