I've been looking for a straight answer on this one and can't get one. I even called SoundExchange and they referred me to a website article at the Harvard Law School (??? !) on the subject. Since my law school education consists entirely of watching old episodes of Perry Mason, it didn't help.
Question: How can you run a pre-recorded radio show or a podcast without individual song metadata being streamed? If the short answer is, "You can't", then how do folks do it? I've even noticed Sirius/XM running old Casey Kasem AT40 or Cousin Brucie shows with just the program title as the metadata. The SoundEx guy referred to it as archived programming, but it looks like the rules require archived programming to be over a certain length, making it tough to run a half-hour or hour pre-recorded show.
I'm holding off running some great stuff from all over the world until I can figure out what the straight answer is. Thoughts?
