Metco Duo At It Again?

Maybe Julie Wolfe will do something this time. Have you see the picture of Anna Nicole being "dipped" by the guy in charge of immigration or residency in the Bahamas? Well, the duo, well-in this case the guy who thought it was manly to leave Ryen Russillo a rip roaring drunk threat-says "Why is Barak Obama dancing with Anna Nicole?"

Their dislike for anything not Republican and Caucasion (sp?) is horrendous.

If that's all they said, then I don't see why anyone would get their knickers twisted over it.
Tell me you havn't seen/heard other people on the air saying so-and-so looks a lot like that photo in the globe/herald/nat'l enquirer?

It does no one any good to try to make every imagined offense a racially charged issue.

You are right, and sorry Lucy-don't hit me! :) It's probably my dislike for them to begin with. Because if Matt Seigel had said this, I probably would laugh, but since it was D & C, my immediate speculation is that they didn't do it for humor. But hey, I could be wrong.

Wow. An open mind on a message board. Quick, someone write down today's date. I think we have a first! :D

>>It's probably my dislike for them to begin with.

"Boy do I really hate those guys!"

"Do you listen to them?"

"Every day."

Dumbass and Callousman? :)

I actually haven't listened to them in a long time, I just stream WBZ while at work. But sometimes I catch their "news" segment at 7:45, and that's what I did today.

If Dennis & Callahan said it the intent was nefarious.

If someone didn't read something you wrote, but made the declarative statement, "If it was Varulven who wrote it the intent was self-promotion" wouldn't you think they were jumping to conclusions? Unfounded or otherwise? ???

I listen to sports radio in the morning... not WEEI... but The Morning Show on 1510... guys know their s**t and generally leave out the talking about themselves and politics...

I don't know who any of the people posting on this board are, but this poster proves they're not all Mensa Clubbers.

From a radio performance standpoint, D&C are the best morning show in the market. They also have the ratings to back it up.

I still contend from where I sit that the Metco Gorilla thing was pretty damn funny...

Do we call them "Mensa endorsed Dennis & Callahan"? Not.

Lucy, I don't need self-promotion, there's a British label and a French label pushing my material.

And then there's always Smoke.

Look Neggy, to each his own and you probably have reasons for feeling this way, but here's the way it comes across to me:

Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary
http://www.m-w.com/dictionary/bully

Bully
1 archaic a : SWEETHEART b : a fine chap
2 a : a blustering browbeating person; especially : one habitually cruel to others who are weaker b : PIMP
3 : a hired ruffian

Where I come from, nobody likes bullies.

D&C are, in my view, bullies. And their fans are wanna-be bullies without power who feel better about themselves by listening to these clowns going after people who have even less power.

It's so pathetic.

Why don't they pick on somebody who actually has power? Like the Enron guys who destroyed the pensions of people at the end of their lives, or Bechtel/Parsons Brinkerhoff who knowingly designed and built crap, or the government guys who fired the contract administrator for refusing to sign off on no-bid contracts for more than one year.

You know, be the kind of guy going up the stairs when everyone else is going down. Sheesh.

Sorry for the lack of pc here, but holding back doesn't come natural to me.

... Callahan is a classic bully... so is Howie Carr... and they appeal to guys who have so much insecurity that they feel the need to pick on others to boost their own egos. There's a large market for that and, as someone said, it's worked because that's a significant segment of WEEI's audience.
