Meter expected to replace Sarandis on BC broadcasts

When Ted isn't worrying about tangential stuff he's quite good. Why's BC willing to downgrade, just as they did replacing Rooke in F'b? Meter has a bit of Harold Moskowitz in him.

I have no great love for the interminably dry and humorless Ted Sarandis, but that pales in comparison to my disdain for Jon Meterparel. He is a suck-up of the first order with dubious knowledge of all things sport and an affected "radio voice" that rivals in ridiculosity Margery Eagan's faux breathiness.

Sorry Boston College, but you shouldn't "take a bow" for this move.

If Meter does BC Bball play by play ;people are gonna aim their FM antennas to ZBC 90.3 FM for any games they carry next season.

I must admit that Meter has grown on me. I still can't stand his contrived calls like "Take a bow" or "There's an Eagle in the end zone", but his play by play isn't that bad. Actually, compared to what little I've heard of that Bruins announcer, his contrived calls aren't that bad either. Sarandis is a humorless ghoul, who takes everything, especially himself, too seriously.

Interesting, Meter doesn't seem suited for bball, although he's improved at football from his beginning.

Meter filled in for Grandy for a couple of C's games a few weeks back. Sounded pretty good (not great, not bad either).
