Meters run behind on Audition

I am upgrading from Cool Edit 2000 to Adobe Audition 2.0.

I ran the trial download for a couple of weeks and didn't notice this problem, but maybe it was there.

Tonight I loaded the registered new program.

When recording, the volume meters have a latency of half a second of so. In fact, they don't really seem to track the actual sound.

Do I have something set wrong? Is this a known problem with 2.0?

In your hardware setup, check your buffer settings. Are you using ASIO? Getting the hardware properly set in AA2 can be a real challenge. Many more options.

i have recently noticed that with cool edit pro 1.2.push record and it's about a second or two before the meters start registering.what should the buffer settings be?

It seems to depend on the processor and RAM. I had to experiment and tweak for a couple of months before I got it right on my two versions of AA 2.0..each one different.
