METRO NETWORKS ANNOUNCES RESTRUCTURING

Radio sales are down and gas prises up and driving down. Less traffic means less traffic reports Less need for Metro.

Wow...who would have thought you could start with a $20 bill...buy couple shares of Citadel, buy some Westwood One, get a complete #11 combo at McDonalds...and STILL have some change coming.

You would think that for this region, the logic would be to combine in Seattle (for Seattle-Tacoma and Portland-Vancouver), however, I've heard that Metro is leaving their office space in the Columbia Tower. Any truth? It sure is fun to go up to the observation deck they have up there.

(for those of you not in the know, it is $5, and M-F 8 am to 5 pm)

Seattle Metro is staying put at Columbia Center. And folks from client stations are welcome to stop by and look down on the Space Needle from the 73rd floor -- free.

I thought lighter traffic would mean quiet freeways. But the collisions continue. And so do the disableds. I'm guessing more folks are running on empty. Even people who ride the bus tell me they listen for traffic reports. Maybe they want to know it could be worse, when they stand on the crowded bus to work. Metro flies a helicopter and two Cessnas in drive time, and we're here 24/7.

No, no openings right now. But keep us in mind.

Gina Tuttle, Metro Seattle director of operations

Gina, good to hear you get to stay in the corner office on 66 (as cold as it gets during Winter.)

Last week I was thinking about 9/11 when we were evacuated, but you stayed put until 3 that afternoon to update affiliates and Metro Source.

Best,

Former Metriod.
