"Black News" was anchored by Bill McCreary and featured contributions from channel five's other African-American reporters. When Fox took over in 1986, this program was moved to Saturday mornings, expanded to one hour, and retitled "The McCreary Report," which continued (later moved to Sunday AM) until 1993.
I would assume this airing is a repeat from the previous evening.

A morning cartoon lineup that kicked butt.

Yes way!! This was dubbed "The New Jersey Report."
Back then, the FCC was really on the backsides of the New York and Philadelphia stations to provide significant news coverage of interest to viewers of the Garden State. WNEW-TV devoted a full 15 minutes (no commercial breaks) to New Jersey news, and promoted their NJ news bureau at the conclusion.

An afternoon cartoon lineup that kicked butt.

Metromedia produced and ran this soap on all its stations. I barely remember it myself. How about anyone else?

John Roland's co-anchor was the afore-mentioned Bill McCreary. When Fox took over, he (voluntarily stepped aside -OR- was pushed out) to work exculsively on his own show. He was replaced as Roland's partner by Cora-Ann Mihalik.
> Saturday September 29, 1984
> 7:30- Wonderama
At this point, this reformatted version didn't even deserve to have the legendary Wonderama title. It's a shell of its former self now as a half-hour magazine-type program.
> 10am- Saturday Morning
IIRC, "Saturday Morning Live" was some kind of local variety show hosted by Gene (Match Game) Rayburn. It didn't last very long, though.
> 8pm- no program
Something aired here, anything but a test pattern. Fast-forward to today, and there's another slot filled in by an infomercial.<P ID="signature">______________
