Mets & SportsNet NY add cable systems

To those of you New Yorkers who like to spend your summer weekends in the Poconos will be happy to know Blue Ridge Cable TV added SportsNet NY to all there systems in eastern PA. You can watch the Mets (SNY) Yankees (YES) and Phillies (CSN) games over there. Service Electric in the Allentown and Easton areas will also add the channel. DISH Network also carry SportsNet NY (no YES network) and Direc TV is on board as well. Cablevision, Comcast, and Time Warner already carry the channel. Good job by the network getting such great regional coverage around NY, NJ, CT, and PA.

SportsNet NY Still Missing for part of CT

SportsNet NY is NOT on Comcast here in New Britain, CT yet. We get YES full time and MSG Network only during Rangers and Knicks telecasts. NESN (New England Sports Network), home to the Boston Red Sox and Boston Burins, is carried by Comcast full time. We also get FOX Sports New England (Boston Celtics) full time.<P ID="signature">______________

Re: SportsNet NY Still Missing for part of CT

There was an ariticle at www.courant.com about this a few days ago. According to the article only Comcast in southern CT will be carrying SNY, and there are no current plans to carry SNY in the Hartford area.

The Waterbury Republican-American ran a similar article in the sports section last week. I believe both Cablevision-Litchfield County, and Charter were about to carry the network. Tele-Media and Comcast-Litchfield County were also in negotiations. It's kind of aggravating that we can't get the network 25 miles over the state line, but it's being carried in Pennsylvania's Poconos, which is a considerable distance from the city, certainly double or triple our 25 miles. We shall see!

Now if Comcast Warren County can get Boomerang on Digital, Bravo on Basic, and Game Show Network on Basic they would be okay.

If Service Electric in Sparta can add Disney Channel at all (they are the ONLY CABLE SYSTEM IN THE WORLD THAT DOES NOT HAVE IT), Toon Disney to Digital, and Nick Toons To Digital they would be okay.
