Audacy app becomes exclusive free digital streaming home for all New York Mets games, in English and Spanish
NEW YORK, NY – March 31, 2022 – Audacy announced an expansion to their broadcast partnership with the New York Mets that will make the Audacy app the exclusive free digital streaming home for all Mets games as part of the WCBS 880’s (WCBS-AM) flagship partnership with the team. English
"For consumers within the Mets broadcast territory", streaming broadcasts in English and Spanish will be available via the Audacy app and Mets.com.
(Meaning similar to last year, there will be geo-fencing in place to limit the stream reach.)
WCBS 880's news format will appear on a separate stream while games are in progress.
Howie Rose (returning from surgery at the end of the '21 season) + Wayne Randazzo continue on the play-by-play on 880.
Spanish Language broadcasts will be aired on WEPN 1050; they'll be produced by WCBS 880.
Announcers will be Max Perez Jimenez alongside Nestor Rosario.
This marks a return to 1050 after being on the now-defunct WQBU 92.7 last season.
The relative lateness of this announcement was likely related to 1050's new owner Good Karma Brands just gaining management control of the station within the past month.
