METS & WFAN DEAL...VERY CLOSE!

NY DAILY NEWS reporter BOB RAISSMAN reports the NY METS & flagship radio station 660 WFAN are "very close" to signing a multi-year deal.

Key question...will the Mets have to take a hit? The KMOX-ST. LOUIS CARDINALS story could change the landscape for radio broadcasting rights for MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL clubs.

SIDENOTE: Does anyone know of a website that lists the flagship radio station & affiliates for each team (MLB, NFL, NBA & NHL)?

Interesting note on WFAN. As far as your sidenote, try www.robertsnyder.net That website can answer your questions.

The NJ Devils will be on WFAN?

Thanks for the tip. Good site. I see they list the flagships. Thats a start. Now just got to find a site that lists the affiliates.

Mr. Snyder mentions the NJ DEVILS will switch from 770 WABC to 660 WFAN.

I don't know of any such site, but the NY Yankees radio affiliates are all listed on the WCBS 880AM web site.

Are the Mets officially starting their own cable TV network next year? I haven't heard much about it lately. I wonder if it will cause as much drama as the Yankees/Cablevision fiasco several years ago.

I'm sure it will cause a fiasco.
IIRC, the network is co-owned with Time Warner and Comcast, which means there will almost certainly be a battle in getting the network on Cablevision (which owns the current homes of the Mets, FSN and MSG)
