MeTV has announced a new station, MeTV Toons, to launch in June. It’s basically an OTA version of the old version of the Boomerang cable channel. They‘ll have the Hanna Barbara library, the Warner Bros library, and a whole lot more.

Antenna Man interviews a Weigel rep below. He says that MeTV’s current affiliate stations were offered first dibs on the new station, and that they have stations in 9 of the top 10 markets. And then explicitly said that Boston is the one top 10 market where they don’t currently have a station. I guess WCVB would rather carry Nosey TV.

WCVB and WMUR have the MeTv affiliation for Boston and Manchester respectfully. They could add another sub channel.

I knew WWJE-DT 50.1 as being owned/channel-shared with WUNI 66, and I believe it's still shared on the 66 signal from its transmitter and tower in Hudson. When did ownership of WWJE-DT transfer to WCVB?

It didn't. But because the WUNI signal is being used for ATSC 3.0 shared operation, WUNI's ATSC 1 streams (including WWJE) are farmed out to other ATSC 1 stations in exchange.

According to Rabbitears, we’re going to get MeTV Toons on WWDP, 62.3. Wish it was on a station with a stronger signal, but better than nothing.

I read somewhere recently that MeTV Toons could appear on on WLNE 6.6, which would be a new subchannel. And any word on if and when WMFP/WWDP will increase their power?

CP does expire 02/07/2026, so they have less than a year to build it. However as of right now, there has been no movement on it, construction wise.

I don't get WMFP/WWDP at all here in Somerville, though I do get WLNE and WJAR from Providence consistently from farther away in the same direction from here.
