Mexico City gets an X-bander

Is anyone hearing this one? So far here in East Texas I haven't been able to get a positive ID, but supposedly XEARZ 1650 has been testing for a week or more. According to Mexico's SCT the new station is licensed for 5,000 watts day and night non-directional.

Bit of a stretch for me...but you never know! ;D

Someone on the NRC list reported hearing this. I forget whether it was last week or early this week.

I thought Mexico was phasing out AM!! I'll give this a try tonight; I think I got a shot from south FL.

Not in Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puebla, Monterrey and on the border where few, if any AMs can migrate to FM.

And the new AM in Mexico City is a non-com, and a very low power for the city it is in.
