MFJ Enterprises ceasing production

MFJ owned several old-time manufacturers, such as Ameritron, HyGain, and Cushcraft. Unless buyers are found to take them over, they will be shutting down as well.

Sad indication of the state of the radio hobby. On one hand, the DSP receivers of today, including SDRs, eliminate a lot of the need for outboard devices to reduce noise and/or read FSK/RTTY/Digital modes. Not as many hams as there used to be (the numbers are dropping after a peak maybe 3 years ago), so there's less call for antennas like Hygain made. And a lot of the modern ham tranceivers have features that eliminate the need for a lot of outboard devices like the ones MFJ made.
