MIA 1430AM

Hello everyone, I hope all is good with everyone here. Despite the language barrier, I enjoy this station a lot. They play a lot of great music (Spanich AC/HOT AC/Reggaton=New and Recent Music) on there, some of the music they play, you even here on the Spanish Soap Operas (Novellas) I'm glad for this station, I wish it was on FM, but I'm happy overall. This is one of the stations I listen to most, despite the language barrier. I'm American (Irish/Spanish) I was born here in United States. I understand little Spanish, I can't speak it, I just know a few words. But I do understand enough to get me by. If you like (Magic 106.7, or KISS 108) music, check this station out on your free time.
Currently they have the Soccor Games on, other than that, they do still play music. Check out this station when you have a free moment, and let us know your thoughts?
Thank you for your time and have a nice day.

Yes, it does sound like a goose - a goose being maimed in IBOC hash-laden razor blades...

boston is long overdue for a spanish FM. its surprising really.

Listen I know its never going to happen and I know all the reasons.... but If I owned the Boston Phoenix I'd buy or partner with El Mundo paper and then flip WFNX to Spanish. The ironic thing is their old transmitter site would probably be the best spot poised between Boston and Lynn but I'd still do it. This is no dig at FNX at all but lets face it the music format of alternative rock is dead. It is just another form of oldies now. The Spanish market isn't huge in Boston but it's formidable. And were their studio location and former transmitter site never made a lot of sense for the current format it's perfect for a local community based Spanish FM. With the backing of a strong local newspaper already immersed they could soar. I think a full power FM might have trouble making it work but I think FNX could do much better than they are doing today.

The FM antenna came down off the tower in Lynn, several years ago,
when major reconstruction work was done at the tower site.
The Phoenix is never going to flip WFNX to anything else. The
newspaper and the radio station serve the same audience.
(20-something hipsters) Highly unlikely that you will see a
Spanish FM station in this area anytime soon. It is not cost
effective, and not a good enough return on investment.

I was taking about the Malden antenna but I agree it would never happen with the current ownership. However I do think if it was done it would be more successful than it is now not less.

if anything i wish they would strengthen the signal its not very good in se mass my trips to the Peabody area are too few so i am stuck ;listening online!!!

when I was driving from Salem to Danvers, the signal fades going north near Danvers, this was at night. You can still hear it, but not well at all, in Salem where I live it's very staticy, even at night, it's still listenable, one of my other radios it comes in better, but slighty staticy

Is the programming on 1430 AM the same as the national feed? I noticed when I click on the listen live link on Mia 1430's website, it takes me to the national feed instead of the stream for 1430.

now that the World Cup is over, they're back to their format.
Despite the language barrier, I love this station. This is one of the few stations that I listen to most, despite that I understand very little Spanish. Their music is very nice. The programming is well put together. They play some very nice Spanish Love Songs both New, Recent and Old. I love it, it is very relaxing. If you like Magic 106.7 and KISS 108, it's a mixture of both, but in Spanish. It's very nice
