Mia Harris Leaves WFAN... Then Badmouths Them!

In addition to Sal Licata - now former call screener for Mike Francesa's afternoon show - it appears another WFAN employee is no longer with the station: update anchor Mia Harris.

Though she does not want to be known as somebody known for "just updates."

She said as much in an interview with a local sports talk radio show on the Internet, in which she proceeds to lay into not only WFAN, but the station's program director Mark Chernoff, whom Harris believes did not appreciate her enough to take on more responsibilities on "the Fan." She even ripped Mike Francesa, calling his style of sports talk radio "on the outs," saying she prefers the easy-going mood of Steve Somers. And yes, she even throws a dig at WFAN rival 1050 ESPN.

I guess it's safe to say she won't find any work in this city again.

Still, it's a interesting thirteen minute interview in which Mia Harris does not hold back.

Just another bitter former employee! She's absolutely correct regarding 1050 ESPN, they can't compete against WFAN with a directional signal!

She won't find work in NY or any other CBS sports radio station anywhere! :)
 
I have been listening to WFAN for a long long time. There is merit to what Mia was saying. The fan is stale. However, I guess when you tune in, you know what you're getting - day in and day out. If you like that sort of thing - great! There is nothing new happening on the station so you can't be surprised. They have not brought in any new hosts. In fact, adam the bull is the last "new" guy who they've brought in. Peter Schwartz is a new update guy. But aside from that - we are getting the same thing - day in and day out. At least we know what we're getting. And don't you worry about Mia. She was in sports before wfan and she'll be around sports after wfan. Talent always rises to the top.
 
I should say that it is a coincidence that Harris (as it appears) has left the station, while earlier, reports were that Baltimore prospect Anita Marks would join WFAN in some capacity. I'd like to see what's on her ninety-second clip... ;)

As for Adam "Bull" Schein, he has proven to be way too good for weekends. In fact, I would not be surprised if, come the day Steve Somers exits "The Fan" (and let's hope he is given the opportunity to retire on his own - and in return, refrain from blabbing to another sports media outlet about how the atmosphere is working for "The Fan" ::) ), "Bull" will fill his shoes with no problem.
 
This is amusing: Seems the owner of the website which conducted the interview with Mia Harris is perturbed because Craig Carton played excerpts of it on his WFAN morning show, without giving the website credit!

its not adam the bull schein.....its adam the bull Gerstenhaber.....and i agree he is good on wfan

mia is a joke and didnt even like the jobs she had. she would flirt with malusis better than doing any of her jobs.
