Miami Heat Games moving to WQAM

I am not in South Florida, but the signal coverage of the two stations appear to be the same. From what I gleaned on the websites, 790 will not have any sports teams and 560 will have almost all teams. It would seem there are a lot of schedule conflicts. Are they trying to kill off 790?

790 will still carry the games in scheduling conflicts. They're putting football as a priority on 560 with Heat, Panthers, and Hurricanes men's basketball games on 790 when needed.

In other words (focusing on local/statewide sports)...

560 WQAM
  • Dolphins
  • Heat
  • Panthers (also on 640 WMEN for WPB)
  • UM Hurricanes Football and Men's Basketball
640 WMEN
  • FAU Owls Football and Men's Basketball
  • NSU Sharks Basketball
  • Buccaneers
790 WAXY
  • The overflow station for 560 WQAM
  • Inter Miami FC (that's all they got left honestly)
850 WFTL
  • FSU Seminoles Football and Men's Basketball
940 WINZ
  • Marlins
  • UF Gators Football and Men's Basketball (shares with 610 WIOD)

It will be better for WINZ to get Panthers and Inter FC to reduce conflict and bringing back the local hosts

WINZ vanishes after sundown here in western Broward and the little 800 watt repeater for WBZT in Pompano doesn't quite come in either. I liked it better when the Panthers were on 640, their signal actually came in better than 560 on this side of town.
