Miami Vice proposed to return to NBC

Gotta get this in about the Jack Webb shows... the headmaster of the K-12 private school where I went to HS bore an uncanny resemblance to Jack Webb. :)

ixnay

That reminds me of the story from a few years back (I think from John Landis) that the original choice to play Dean Wormer in Animal House was ... Jack Webb. Reportedly, Webb turned it down because it was disrespectful of authority, etc...

Too bad. He would have made a great Wormer.

.....and he would had been photographed too. Apparently there are NO known photographs of either Jack Webb and Julie London POST Emergency. There are even some pics of Bobby Troup and Robert Fuller after Emergency but none of Jack and Julie,

Besides the movie, Dragnet has already received two small screen revivals. The New Dragnet was a syndicated reboot from 1989 that featured new characters; it was eventually accompanied by The New Adam-12. In 2003, Dick Wolf created a new Dragnet for ABC that starred Ed O'Neill as Joe Friday.

Those versions of Dragnet is far more likely to get revived. Have "Joe Friday"not only become 420 friendly but have him smoke a joint before work since so many people do just that. Give Joe 2 partners a Gay and a Muslim and you can bet a bunch of those under 35 will tune in.

Prior to Webb's death, he was reportedly looking to bring back Dragnet AGAIN, with Kent McCord serving as his partner.

What? No Harry Morgan as Bill Gannon? Sacrilege! I think Morgan outlived Webb by at least 20 years, but perhaps he was still working M*A*S*H at the time.

Morgan would have been available by the time production would have started (MASH was in its final weeks), but I doubt he would have wanted the role anyway--especially since the rushed "AfterMASH" started up right after.
