Miami's Jim Kelly has passed away.

Rest in Peace JIM. It was an honor to work with Jim in 1970. Jim was working at WMYQ weekends. I was working my first job in radio, part time at WOCN. I had never been on broadcast radio. Jim lined up me and two other rookies to go to New Orleans and change WWOM FM 98 from album rock to Top 40. We all left our Miami gigs and headed to NOLA.
for about 4 weeks thats right maybe 4 weeks tops. Just 4 of us, we worked 6 hour shifts. It was summer it rained all the time and the request line rang off the hook by day. By night the Hippie fans of the old album rock station called in bomb threats at night. So many stories from the Big Easy. We all got fired with in weeks. Thats an even longer part of the story.
JIM was our PD and a great guy. Truly an honor to know him.
