Wow! If it`s true. Does Fox have the cap room to make a buy outside a place where they already own a station? I guess they`ll get it through the current (Republican) FCC? I would think they`d be trying to get more "duopolies".

FOX 7???

This will change how the station identifies itself over-the-air.

This also means the Saturday morning lineup currently airing on FOX will now be seen on 7.

Or not ... (Re: FOX 7???)

Where did they release this information or are you speculating (the above is written as if it were a fact)? If so, since several Fox O&Os don't carry any of the Fox Saturday morning line-up (KTBC, WBRC, KDFW), why would this automatically mean they would dump their local news for airing cartoons?

UH, OH!!!!! What about WHDH?

So does this mean that WHDH could indeed be on the block too?
I thought everyone said Ansen wasn't interested in selling.

Perhaps this TVSpy webiste has a credibility issue?

No Sale!

FTV Live is reporting that the reports are not true. (Also see the thread on this board on the fact that the sale rumors aren't true)

And I also would think that $700 million is a bit too high a sale price for a Miami TV station, even though WSVN is one of Fox's top affiliates. A VHF in Miami might go for $500-$600 million.

Duh................!

If Fox were to buy WSVN they would indeed rebrand the station "Fox 7". Also you woudl see soem off network sitcoms running during the 7 PM hour and the 11 PM hour. Chances are WSVN would acquire the next cycle of Seinfeld reruns as well as getting off Fox sitcoms like That 70's Show, King Of The Hill, and The Simpsons after they expire on WBFS or WBZL.

NO!! WBFS runs the line-up and this arrangement will continue. In fact the 4 Kids TV is not actually part of the Fox Network but a syndicated package of shows offered to Fox affiliates. Fox affiliates and O & O stations have rights of first refusal. If a Fox affiliate refuses the shows DIC will then try to find an independent, UPN, or WB station to run it.

Fox affiliates and O & O stations are not madated to run the kids stuff on Saturday MOrnings. They only have to run 3 hours of EI Educational Kids shows per week between 7 AM and 6 PM. The 4 Kids TV only has one hour out of four that are EI. Even if Fox or DIC cannot find a station willing to run 4 Kids TV would not obligate Fox affiliates or an O & O to run it. In fact in Atlanta, Birmingham, Austin, and Greensboro The Fox 4 Kids TV cartoons are not run at all. Only in ATlanta and Birmingham do the Fox stations have Saturday Morning News. The other markets run EI kids shows. In Cleveland WB 55 runs 4 Kids TV on Sunday Mornings while Fox 8 WJW runs EI shows and paid programming. In Detroit WB 20 runs the kids shows on Sunday Morning while Fox 2 WJBK runs Saturday Morning news and EI shows. In Milwauke Fox 6 WITI does not run the 4 Kids TV cartoons while 58 WDJT's digital station runs it. In Kansas City Fox 4 WDAF does not run 4 Kids TV while independent station 38 KMCI runs it. In Phoenix Fox owns both Fox 10 KSAZ and KUTP 45 and NIETHER station run 4 Kids TV. 4 Kids TV is run on Belo's WB 61 KASW Sunday mornings. That particular situation baffles me. In Dallas Fox 4 KDFW does not run 4 Kids TV but 27 KDFI Fox's co-owned independent does run it.

EVen Fox O & O 32 WFLD has dropped 4 Kids TV for Saturday Morning News but its run on 50 WPWR. So WSVN will not be running 4 Kids TV even under Fox Ownership. What I dont uderstand is why stations opt against running this programming. Its only 4 hours on Saturday morning. Network affiliates of ABC & CBS and NBD run catheir kids shows.
