Iheart announces that Albl will leave Iheart after 3 decades.
After a 31 year run at iHeartMedia and predecessors Clear Channel and Jacor, Michael Albl has exited as Vice President of Programming.
Albl oversaw the Custom Programming operations division for the past thirteen years including the development of the Format Lab in 2006 and then Premium Choice in 2009. He began his run with the company in the late 80s with Jacor as Corporate Programming and Marketing Director where was credited as coming up with “The Power Pig” name for WFLZ Tampa before segueing to subsidiary Critical Mass Media as Executive Vice President of Marketing. Following Jacor’s acquisition by Clear Channel he became Vice President of Programming and lead product strategist.
