Michael Doyle: New Entercomm "Regional President"

On the Radio Info page....
Having the Bills, regardless of their less than stellar opener, could help this.

Entercom Ups Michael Doyle to Regional President. Regional vice president since 2007 and VP and market manager for Rochester before that, Entercom announces Michael Doyle is promoted to regional president. In his new duties, Doyle will continue to manage the Buffalo, Gainesville, Indianapolis, Memphis, Rochester, Wichita and Wilkes-Barre markets. He’ll also continue his growing leadership role at Entercom, spearheading a number of key corporate initiatives, including Entercom’s Market Support Group which oversees communications, recruitment, training and integrated sales strategies for all of the 23 markets in which Entercom operates

Congratulations to Mike Doyle for his promotion. And condolences as well...since he's being asked to tend to a big basket of markets spread out over 1000 miles of territory. Since Entercom seems (at least based on what you hear in both Buffalo and Rochester) to allow each market to develop its own collection of formats, people and styles, by contrast with the Clear Channel way of cluster after cluster in city after city all sounding the same, that's got to be a really complicated task.

Mr. Doyle's style appears to be pretty "hands-off", unless there's a problem. Even then, he seems to let "creative tension" resolve issues. I've heard that the departure of Larry Robb and others at Entercom Buffalo had a lot to do with too much tension, and too little creativity on the part of Greg Ried and a few others. They've lost some very good people, and there are others who are less than happy. Then again, if you want to stay in town, Cumu-less isn't much of an alternative, and Town Square appears to have its own issues.

Michael Anthony Doyle has worked hard to achieve his success. Congratulations to him.
