It does seem kind of odd that CC would let him appear on a station in the same marketplace that is not also owned by CC. Hope he does not leave tho...I like his
Saturday computer show on 950.

Old Chicago

Doubt he going anywhere though 97.5 could only wish. They could use someone who has name and face recognition in town not to mention an upbeat (really upbeat) personality. Too talented to sit behind a mic on Saturdays; matter of time before CC gives him more hours or he bolts to a bigger gig possibly on a satellite channel.

Wonder why 97.5 was saying he was going to be on. Saw his pic in the Chron about a charity golf tournament of his. I think there is a golf show on at that time; maybe he was trying to promote it.

One more thing. There's the big issue with Garfield. Old Chicago even referred to his gig as a "computer show." I've listened for a few years and that is exactly what it not about. He even says he hates talking about computers and to tune in to Kim Commando if you want to hear computers.

Seems to know a lot about high-tech stuff like fun gadgets, web sites & he does take a lot of calls and helps and recommends things to people. But its more like a morning, entertainment, sports and lifestyle program. He'll go on and on about the Texas Longhorns and then spurt out references about music trivia that no one else would know. Kind of sounds like he is rehearsing for a "regular" show.

One wonders where he could be plugged in at other hours on KPRC or a CC prop. A friend of a friend who is in sales over there said he was the best on-air guy to go on calls as he likes working closely with advertisers (imagine that with today's jocks!). If CC is all about $$ then he could be a good resource to help them grow more cash flow.

Back-to-back postings, huh, Dog? Sounds like your an expert...

All true though. MG is one of the nicest guys in the business and himself is a very sharp marketing and business guy.

Heard a while back that BizRadio team wanted to talk to him for Houston/Dallas. He worked with Clanton at 650 before CC. Guess nothing happened or he decided that's not what he wanted to do.

Dude does know how to attract sponsors and clients and that IS the business of radio and especially cheap channel.

Maybe he should move over to Sam's slot on KTRH so Sam can concentrate spinning all those Backstreet Boys and 50 Cent tunes that he grew sick of at KRBE. ;) What goes around comes around I guess.

Sam spinning 50 cent

Touche, Spinwax! Wonder if KC's comment about Sam getting too old and tired of spinning 50 Cent records will come back to haunt him? Mix may not play 50 Cent but looks like he's back doing his same schtick.

Will he bring back that piano or did he leave that behind with Maria?

Dog, even garfield's mother wouldn't post such a shameless endorsement. you make it sound like he's up for stern's job and he just ain't that good...why's garfield not doing tv anymore?

Is Garfield's show a brokered show like a lot
of weekend programming? If he is paying
CC for the air time, would CC have anything
to say about where he appears as a guest?
