Michael Graham has issues Monday 3pm...

what a break for WRKO! One happy Carr.

Re: Michael Graham ... As In Crackers.....

Graham's permanent presence on 96.9 can only be good news for Howie Carr. It will in fact mean that Carr has no opposition to afternoon talk. Have some issues with Howie, but he is giving the masses what they want. Then again, B.T. Barnum did too.

No indication of it on the 969fmtalk.com site but I'm sure they'll update it.
Well at least they'll have programming "exclusive" to 96.9; live not not so
local (what else is new), as the show will no doubt be done from Graham's
Virginia abode. Unless he finds a place up here.

And as I've said before, didn't quite get into MG when I tuned in--yes, his voice sounds livelier than Severin (missing for 8 weeks now) but I do prefer HC
with chumpline, Menino cuts, Max Robins, gangster talk, conservatalk,
etc. And I hope (and think) that WTKK will continue to run tape delayed Hannity.
What will happen, though, if Severin DOES come back to do, say, 7-10 pm
on 96.9? Will Laura get squeezed out? I get the feeling though that Severino
may be headed for 'BZ, anyway.

from Graham's site: "In fact, I'm flattered to say that some of the most successful talk stations in America have been kind enough to put me on the air in the past few months. For the past several weeks, I have been in serious negotiations regarding my return to talk radio.

Those negotiations are coming to a close. All I am at liberty to say today is "stay tuned." I hope to have some wonderful news to share with you soon."

Ed Schultz is barely an alternative. Im hoping that the "masses" that you speak of have had their fill of the Mundane Mr. Carr....This is WKOX's chance to make the big switch to Randi Rhodes. Time the 50mhz upgrade and the switch together and WKOX owns drivetime.

An alternative voice is desperately needed in Boston.....Ed isn't a strong enough challenger to Carr. Carr and Schultz are much better than Graham. (I applaud 'TKK to make Graham permanent, and encourage WBZ to take Severin from 7pm to 10pm).

Go Randi! :)

bank on Virginia ISDN!

Graham, Severin, Curtis, and Sheppard...

If Michael Graham does get the gig, I had hoped he would of been on in
AM Drive, with, perhaps, Jim Braude, dumping the boring Imus show, putting
Jay back on 3-7. (Guess Jay will go 7-10?) As far as names go...Jay
Severin is not the only Boston personality that does not use his real name...
namely (pardon the pun..) Chet Curtis, Pete Sheppard among those that
come to mind....If 96.9 could...getting VB to do a show would be a bonus...
Graham is fast paced, certainly faster paced than Howie. I can understand the allegiance to Howie's show, but it does get a bit far fetched...i.e. deathwatch...those of us who are political hounds do enjoy the verbal sparring/debating...here's one who hopes Severin is back...and Graham gets a program too....

What Price Fame ?

VB on 96.9 No way, Jose. Can't see the classy Peter Smyth going in the direction of "Virgin Boy". The station has always had - as does Greater Media - a pretty high credibility standard. Can't see hiring someone whose claim to fame is that he willingly allowed himself to be the foil for Howie Carr's lame gay jokes. Doug Goudie has some real talent but he has had to pay a dear price to be heard or seen. Not sure when Goudie is 50 if he would still want the moniker. What price fame ?

Can we cut the aimless cheerleading for liberal hosts, regardless of any factor, on every board? WKOX will never own drivetime. Ever. Again: ever. Please know that after eight decades of success, stations like WBZ and WRKO don't just die. Most big stations like these have some crap we may not like, but apparently a lot of people are listening. No one's listening to WKOX/WXKS. They could have 500,000 watts, it wouldn't matter. The liberals and Rush alike need to get off this signal issue with libtalkers. If content sucks, no one will care. And in Boston, no one does.
