Michael Graham: Thank you C-Span

Just wanted to give a shout out to C-SPAN2 and the guy who interviewed Mike for their "Book TV" show last night. The interviewer was really well informed and just hammered Mikey on his ill-informed views.

Graham looked really off-guard at having to deal with an educated interviewer who could call him out on his inaccuracies and didn't fall for his flippant, stand-up comedy persona.

Good job C-SPAN!

Got a link?

Odds are no one on this board saw it. And C-Span2 and "the guy" will never see your comments.

If it is going to be repeated...or you have a link to it would help.

I didn't see it that way. That guy came across as a smarmy twerp and I think Graham gave better than he got. Of course I wanted to see it that way and you clearly didn't.

CNN, MSNBC...CSPAN...I think we all know what their agenda is. Fair and balanced? Not so much. At least Graham is what he is...and is honest about it.

Yeah they ask tough questions like how did you go about writing your book Mr. (Chris) Wallace (Fox). Here's part of the transcript:

My -- a fellow, an agent, Bill Adler (ph), came up -- called me up and said, Have you ever thought of writing a book? And I said, yes, but I never have had an idea. And he kind of had some ideas, and we sort of put the idea together and then we went to -- got a publisher, Rugged Land, a small publishing house with a relationship with Random House, and also talked to Richard Newstadt, the great historian.
In other words, he really didn't want to write a book, have an idea, or do it on his own.

The facts are that talk-show host authors (Stern,Savage,Imus,O'R et al.) are expected to plug the hell out of their books to a shellshocked audience.

Except for CSPAN, their agenda is to make money, period! CSPAN is a non-profit, and does not take sides on any issue.

I'm an avid listener to Michael Graham's show and have a great deal of admiration for him, although I don't agree with everything he says. I think on his program, when he articulates his own thoughts, and believe me, he prepares for that show, he comes across as someone who's passionate and learned on the subject he is discussing. I'm sorry to say that in the C-Span brioadcast, he was not as his best by any means and did not come across as either very articulate nor very confident. It was sad, as I fully expected and hoped he would have done better.

Nor did I. I watched the whole interview thru stops and starts of buferring... Graham blabbed thru the whole interview and made all his points. I didn't see where the interviewer called him out on any inaccuracies.

whats shocking to me is that this thread showed me that someone somewhere actually watches cspan. wow

We're talking about C-span2 here, which runs Book TV on the weekends. I check Book TV's schedule every weekend to guide me towards any nonfiction books I might find interesting. The last book I just completed, "How It Ends" by Chris Impey, I chose on the basis of his appearance on C-span2. BTW, it deals with the actual end of the world as well as the end of the universe...no Jesus or 12th Imam will be involved. He did mention that it's true that mayflies only live for one day or so; that's whu mayfly singles clubs only offer speed dating.

I only watched it because of the link posted here. I had never watched before and I'll probably never watch it again.
