MICHAEL GRAHAM'S LAST DAY

C

Casablanca

Guest
Anyone taking a guess on what will be Michael Graham Crackers last day on WTKK's morning drive?
Imus starts December 6.
Will December 7, 2007 be Graham Crackers Pearl Harbor?
He might think it is a day that will live in infamy but the listeners will think of it as a day of liberation.

if you dislike him that much, why listen?

Whatever....Who cares?

He was never meant to be a permenant replacement....just a temporary fill-in.

He will probably go back to his old slot.

Casablanca...do you stay up at night thinking of these posts?

Who listens? According to the latest ratings no one listens to "Crackers".

Casablanca makes a habit of listening to people he hates. Odd Hobby I agree.
The classic "angry old man"....."when I was your age....blah blah blah"

Keep 'em honest, Casablanca. Michael Graham's last day can't come soon enough. I DON'T listen to him and wish they'd put something decent on the air so we COULD listen.

Graham does good columns on the op-ed page of the Herald...My choice today was (disregarding
sports talk, though I did hear the very start of Big Show) between "do you leave the toilet seat
up?" on Feinbore, or Hannity talking prez politics. Chose the latter. Hurry back Howie.

Those who
want prog talk, 1500 from DC and 1520 from Buffalo have Rhodes on late afternoon, etc....

Well, was listening to the toilet seat conversation (dont really want to admit it ;D ) and someone just called in saying Howie would have loved the topic. So, there you go....

He would have made it funnier at least..but he would have led the show with prez stuff. This next
year will be prime material for folks like Howie, once he DOES get back on. Somewhere.

I liked Michael on his old slot because he could concentrate well on his topics, but he is too streched out on the morning slot. His attempts at getting people riled up and calling are Junior High at best and seriously lacking. His attempts at insulting liberals and the left leave a lot to be desired after the first 200 or so in the first hour. It just makes it sound like a really bad attempt at streching a two-hour show to four hours.

I liked his show at the two hour slot and would tune into him again from 10-12 but his four hour show has me tuning out more often than not.

Maybe the 12-3 would suit him better? He could still do decent topic coverage and placate his listeners with the barbs without getting too inane or absurd. E&B are too hard to listen to for three hours.

What was the plan when Howie was involved? Back to 10-12? A lot of his material is funny, but his delivery is terrible. At least he brings some energy to the mornings, though. Imus is asleep at the board.

E&B talked WAY too fast when they had a one hour show, three hours is not as bad, but I still think they sound better when separated. Ever heard the show when one is not there?

more WTKK: Michelle McPhee made a comment which might be interpreted as linking
homosexuality with pedophilia. She wouldn't comment to the Globe (directly) but the station
apologized.

She "was talking about the trend in the fashion industry toward skinny models. After saying that the industry is largely dominated by gay men, McPhee said: 'And who do homosexual men like? Little boys.'"

This wouldn't have happened if Howie was on WTKK...because Graham would have been on in that
10-noon slot instead...

What she said is that guys who like skinny girls are homoerotic because the skinny girls look more like men, albeit dainty men, than girls. And then that the fashion people are mostly gay, and thus they would design clothes that are more suited to these skinny types because they look more like little boys than normally sized women. Someone called up and called her on it, and that was her explanation. She gave an apology of sorts.

I'm not saying any of what she said makes any sense, but she was not saying that gays like little boys, only that they design for that body type.

I've heard Braude when Marjorie wasn't there and Jim doesn't sound any different. He does joke with the listeners as if it was Marjorie but he does put on a good show. I've never really cared for Marjorie...sounds too much like a overly sheltered housewife that would be shocked if you told her the Earth revolves around the sun. If she's had to cover it for a story, she has a great grasp of the subject, but she seems totally lost in everything else that surrounds her. She's the Lou Costello to Braude's Bud Abbott, but her cluelessness got old with me real quick.

I heard Michelle make a remark the other day that was pretty inflammatory against minorities. She said something to the effect that she doesn't want to sound racist, but all of the Boston cops who are in prison are minorities and hired under affirmative action. Way to get your point across, Michelle.

The truth hurts huh? If she said "all of the Boston cops who are in prison are white" , nobody would so much as blink an eye.

Have to admit that Graham was totally right today regarding the nuts in Cambridge who threw out the Boy Scouts last week for collecting toiletries for our soldiers in Iraq.

Have to congratulate him on this one and hope he picks up where the Boy Scouts left off.
