Michael Hagerty

Just a note that Friday (5/27) will be my last day at ABC15. It's a great place with people I'll miss terribly, but two and a half years of a 3AM alarm has been tough on my family, so it's time for a change. No bombshell...the station's known for three weeks, the staff for about two...and I figure it's time to let everyone else know, too. Details on what's next as soon as I can say something.

Michael;

Thanks for sharing this info with your friends at Phoenix TV Message Boards. Good luck on your future endeavors.

I realize this may sound super selfish but does this mean we might get stations ratings back bud? The one's you so graciously provided to us in the past ;D ;D ;D (Hint, Hint!!!)

Good luck.

Charlie.

Thanks, Charlie! As for the ratings, that was a factor of having access and a boss (the late Ron Bergamo) who saw the value in transparency and getting the story out any way you could. If the stars align like that again, sure.

Well, having worked the EARLY morning shift in the past, I totally understand that the 3am thing gets old very quickly. We will, of course, miss your professional traffic reports all morning long! I'm sure that you will move on to bigger and better things soon.

Thanks for all your contributions to this board.

When I had a morning paper route in Tucson as a kid (3AM wake-up) my circulation manager used to tell me that he should charge us for requiring us to get up "on such a beautiful day". ;D

Michael,

Best of luck on your next endeavors! I'll miss your morning reports on traffic. (Of course, being retired myself, I listen and snicker at the poor folks out in it.... ;D )

Paul

3 AM? I can't tell you how many times I haven't even gone to bed yet at 3 AM!!

Seriously, Michael, best of luck to you - may good things come your way.

Sad to see you leave abc 15 but understand and respect your decision. Watched you over the years on KTVK, KAZT and of course on KNXV! Wishing you the best in your future endeavors! You're real class act and can't wait to see what you have planned next! Take care Michael!

Thanks, you guys! It occurred to me this morning that in 40 years at 7 radio stations and 5 TV stations (so far), I've been allowed to do a last show and wrap it up with the audience at all but two (one radio and one TV). ABC15 is among the class acts I've been privileged to work for.
