Michael Jackson's Death makes a Case For Local Radio

It's truly sad that Michael Jackson is no longer with us. It's more sad that the media can't wait until after his burial to tear him down. Heaven help us all.

Most stations in the United States gave Micheal Jackson some air play upon learning of his death. These stations took requests from local listeners along with their memories of MJ. It was wonderful... and sad. But it proved that local radio is the most effective means of broadcasting . If we only had 3 -5 major broadcasting entities (Clear Channel, Cumulus, Citadel, etc.) broadcasting across America with no local input, the true impact of MJ's passing would not have been expressed.

Peace... Out.

Rest In Peace MJ.
