Yes I have resigned from CCLA. My family still lives in San Jose and I flew back and forth each week for the past year. I made the decision to resign when I realized in the past year I saw my son a little over 80 days out of 365. My 2 daughters go to college in San Jose as well. I know we are in a gypsy business but I made the decision to not move my son away from his sisters and family and remain in San Jo. The job in LA is VERY unfinished and I hate to walk away but in weighing the 2 out it was an obvious choice for a father. It's a great team in LA and i'll miss them dearly but I missed my son more. I wanted to post this before rumors flew. Those are the facts. I chose my family and am staying in the Bay. Announcement on my gig in the coming days.
Mr. Martin You made a wonderful choice. I chose not to be gone all the time from my own son back in 1999. I would come home and he would look at me with this who is this person wanting to hold me look in his face. That was all it took for me to make the same easy decision. My son just turned eleven this past December 22. Watching him grow up and being there for all his birthday's has been a thrill. You won't be sorry for your choice. So when do you start at CBS San Francisco? Thats the rumor on the SF board by the way.
R&R, in playing catch-up on this story, referred to R-I but without
mentioning R-I, saying "a post from him on a radio message board..."
In our future excerpting of R&R items here should we refer to them
only as "a radio news site"?
BTW, has R&R been "off" for much of this two-week holiday period?
Their updates seem to be few, far between, and late.

why? you can't help it if R&R wants to be generic in referring to message boards rather than specific in referring to this one... ???

Michael is a class act and I loved programming one of his stations, KHGE Fresno from 2006-2009. When Michael left the SVP post for the VP/Programming in LA I knew things would be funky in the future for us in his region, he departed. I am glad he is out of the CC people eater and focusing on his family. MM I am commuting back to Fresno every month from Yuma and I know what you are missing, although my children are young adults at 27 and 20, I miss my wife, son, daughter and grandson. Tear it up in the 415. KYSR made some great strides against KROQ and MY is the station we are pattering our HOT AC in the Desert Southwest/Yuma like.
It's nice to see someone move from a great gig to another great gig, that brings them closer to family.
