Michael Omartian, Roby Duke, Denny Correll

Why doesn't K-Love play music by contemporary Christian male singing artists Michael Omartian, Roby Duke and Denny Correll. They're a major part of CCM. Espcecially Roby Duke. His album "Come Let Us Reason" was an amazing combination of pop, r & b, and jazz. It was incredible. And Denny Correll, formerly with Blues Image, had that raspy voice that didn't sound like anyone else...much like the lead singer of Third Day. K-Love's dropping the ball big time.

The same reason Mainstream CHR isn't playing X Y and Z ... CCM has a specific target and a specific group of artists aired.

Denny Correll, as Dennis Correll, cut a competing version of "Rock 'N Roll Heaven" that was released on A&M records in 1974. The song, of course, was a top 5 hit by The Righteous Brothers in the same year. Correll's version is more Rock guitar based, and unfortunately isn't tuneful nor as dramatic as the Righteous Brothers hit with their soulful singing and more powerful production values.

I've read in more then one place that Denny was in Blues Image, however on the LP with their hit "Ride, Captain Ride", the members of the group are not identified, and his name does not appear in the line-up in Joel Whitburn's extensive "Top Pop Singles" books, which are based on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. So, I'm kind of wondering.

Denny Correll was definitely a member of Blues Image. Check the music video the group did of "Ride Captain Ride" on YouTube and you'll see Denny Correll doing the lead vocal.

I've never heard of the thing you're talking about in 1974.

Remember hearing some of Roby Duke's music, back in the day.

This was back in 1999 and early 2000, when we first got Direct TV.

They had a music provider called Music Choice.

The music was wonderful and I liked the way they mixed it up.

One minute you would hear a new song, then several classics would be played.

This Sonic Tap service isn't my cup of tea at all.

Please bring back Music Choice, Direct TV.

Their presentation is far better anyway.
