at WCFO 1160. Now,if they'd just get their audio processor fixed.

He is, and he sounds almost as bad as when he was on 1340 WALR.

WCFO has to be the crappiest sounding 50kW station in ATL.

When you have a directional system, with multiple towers that have to be tuned, sometimes bandwidth can suffer. Just speculating with no direct facts of knowledge of this particular operation, my best guess is either the transmitter or more likely the antenna system. With all of the AM stations going "dark" a decent audio chain should not be a budget buster. The Breakaway licensed version is $200.00. The STL audio response should not be an issue for a talk station because the "stone wall" audio filters everyone was suppose to install last century should kill everything above 9.5 khz.

I bet they're still using a...

CBS Audimax. Remember those? That's an old light bulb type processor. Those were converted into junk the day Bob Orban decided to use an LED optocoupler in an audio processor, revolutionizing audio processing for radio FOREVER.
If they don't want to buy a new one, they should get one of those ladies down there to ride audio all day.

WCFO East Point GA...50,000 watts days, 160 watts nights. I suppose Mark Levin will be heard in the parking lot, except for a few months in the spring and summer.

Here's the line up...

The run Dennis Miller in early afternoons, except when they can convince someone local to pay for a one-hour show. Then they preempt Miller. So if you're a Miller fan (I'm not) his show runs like a checkerboard in Atlanta. But I guess checkerboard clearance in a top 10 market is better than none at all.

Savage is so good they give him two runs, live at 3-6pm, then on tape 9pm-Midnight. And Jerry Doyle runs all night. If you enjoy what he had to say between Midnight and 3am, you'll love it again between 3-6am. They don't want to bother to switch to another overnight show at 3am? And it really isn't an overnight show. I think he does it live 6-9pm E.T. Shouldn't they do a better job for those people listening at night within the 160 watt coverage area?

Looks like Mark has migrated 920 WGKA.Guess he wanted to be on a station that could be heard at night. But it appears to be tape delay. At least WCFO carried him live!
If you miss either Savage or Levin you can catch them both (via tape delay) on WLS 890... that is, if the Cubans aren't jamming them.
