Michael Savage Predicts He Will Replace Hannity 3-6pm

Michael Savage made the prediction last night that he will replace Sean Hannity from 3-6pm on Cumus stations. The way that he was talking about it, it seemed as though it's a done deal, but that he cannot officially announce it.

I'm wondering what will happen with WABC if the major shake-up happens. They'd basically lose 25% of their programming content.
Do you think they'd bring on Glenn Beck to replace Rush? In my opinion, if they are able to replace Rush with Beck and Hannity with Savage, then move John Batchelor back to 9pm, they'll be in a good position.
 
Hannity seems to be having a bad month. First he loses his slot on Fox, and now he's getting bumped from Cumulus.

Beck is a CC talent, so you definitely won't be hearing him on WABC. But Inside Radio reports that Rush will stay and Hannity will go, replaced by Savage.

If that happens, Hannity will be in the same situation as Bob Grant was when he was on WOR against the bigger WABC.
 
If Savage is unable to do the entire 3 hours live then the show should be cut to two hours or he should retire and Cumulus should find someone else for the slot.

As far as Hannity it serves him right for betraying his Conservative audience in favor of promoting his buddy, "the architect, Karl Rove". I wonder if PPM is precise enough to show how many tune out when they hear that quote - coming up next.

No, and no.

There has been no official announcement regarding the time slot on Fox, other than that Megyn Kelly will be on in prime time. There have only been rumors about time slots.

And I think Sean would just as soon be free of what's left of his involvement with Cumulus. It's not like Clear Channel doesn't have stations to put him on. So he'll be just fine when it comes to radio.

They have lots of stations, but not powerhouse stations like WLS in Chicago. He's not coming back in Philly either. And he'll end up on a 1KW in the Nation's Capital. Huge drop in prestige in cities where it matters.
 
TBH I wonder if it matters. So what if Hannity loses the big cities when they are so overwhelmingly Democrat anyway?

But he will gain in LA. He'll be off KABC and on to KFI, assuming they want to replace their local guy Bill Carroll. I'd be pissed if they did. At least Bill covers LA/California issues.
 
If he is "predicting" he doesn't know. Watch the guys that remain silent.

I don't think he's involved. It depends on his deal. His show was originally an ABC Radio Show. When Citadel bought ABC Radio, and the original contract ended, Sean decided to take the syndication to Premiere, but kept the original ABC owned and operated stations. Then 18 months ago, Citadel went bankrupt, and Cumulus bought Citadel.

I'm not aware that his current contract is up, or that he has a say in the syndication at this point. Obviously the relations between Premiere and Cumulus are pretty tense right now, mainly over Rush. Politico is reporting that Cumulus will keep Rush but not Hannity, which is fine with Cumulus. To the best of my knowledge, Cumulus has never had strong feelings about keeping Hannity, and I haven't seen his name come up in any of the interviews with the Dickeys. So it's likely that the decision was by mutual consent.
 
I'm not a Hannity fan, but he is the number two most listened to host, and he would have continued being the number two political host in the NY tri-state area if these changes weren't occurring.

Clear Channel will clear him on WOR. What's the big deal?
