Michael Savage to WBAP

Savage signed a new distribution contract with Cumulus today and it looks like they will be putting him on their "A" talk stations. Savage will be on 8p-11p local time. Locally I hope this means 820 for Savage and not 570.

It's a no brainer, this is a L-I-F-O (last in, first out) situation for sure. Chris should be moved up to mid-days. Don't give it another thought.

Boy I feel sorry for the folks that have to produce his show. The staffers at TRN had to be quietly doing a dance when they heard the Weiner finally got out of his contract. I hear he's a grade-A loon to work with.

That is SO true! I have heard Savage so many times yell and demean at the off-mic staff.

I remember once I was listening and Savage was live one minute and running off a tape the next minute. It seemed that he got upset with something and just walked out. If I recall, he came back and went back live after 30 minutes or so had passed.

Michael Savage tells Radio Ink that KSFO in San Francisco and KLIF in Dallas are two of the 22 stations set to re-launch his program "Savage Nation" on Tuesday. WABC in New York will also become a Savage affiliate at some point. After parting ways with Talk Radio Networks (TRN), Savage signed a deal with Cumulus Media Networks who will now syndicate his show. Savage would not say who the other companies were that wanted his program, but he did say he turned down big money to do an Internet-only show. Listen to our short interview with Savage about his new deal, his surprise one-hour show on the Internet, and why he is bullish on terrestrial radio.

Okay, well you know what that means? Our household will reset all clock radios to 570, depart from and abandon the WBAP morning show (we've already departed all other live show day parts on 820) in favor of KLIF in the morning.

My wife and I were parsing that very scenario (hoping Savage was on 820 to keep 820 for the mornings) and she pointed out that 570 is so much more palatable now w/o Bolton Mornings.

So HELLO Amy!

Savage is going air 9-midnite on KLIF.

Exactly. Savage before bed, KLIF Mornings to follow due to change of station on clock radios...

As long as they keep Batchelor from 12-4. I kind of enjoy that show. Batchelor gets off of politics largely and talks about all kinds of topics, from historic to scientific.

Who cares? He's a washed-up has-been who never really was.
WBAP died to me when they let Mark Davis get away. KLIF is a gnat of a radio station now with no identity and horrible management and no following. savage won't help.
