Michael Savage Update?

As the topic line is in the form of a question, does anyone really know what is going on with Savage? I can't believe he is not chomping at the bit to be back on the air SOMEWHERE/SOMEHOW before the election. Anyone know?

Rumor is Cumulus is picking him up.

I really thought that it would be Courtside.....

Who knows. You'd think that if he was planning on emerging in a week or so, he'd be calling his former affiliates.

I've also read that Compass was in the running to pick up the show. Who knows for sure if He will return to radio. He could decide to go the Glenn Beck route and move to the internet.

Bob, i don't know if either one of these players can pay the kind of money that Savage wants.

TRN was treating him pretty well. They already had a big replacement for him lined up in Atlanta. Then, he dumps.

1160 still has a picture of Savage at the top of their home page and also still lists Savage's show on their schedule on the 1160 Facebook.

So if 1160 is carrying Huckabee (from Cumulus), will they be carrying Savage now that he's with Cumulus?

I hope somebody carries him.

Maybe the later time slot will get him on a station I can receive.

"The show, formerly in the 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Eastern time slot, now will air from 9 p.m. to midnight Eastern, Monday through Friday, Cumulus said."

His new deal with Cumulus.... The company that wanted kinder and gentler conservative talk radio, is for 9 to midnight.

He just made it to the land of insignificance.

Do you really think they will try muzzle Savage, and he put up with it?

Isn't that the same land of insignificance you get Mike Huckabee? (whom I like, by the way)

If Big Country 94.1 doesn't really start gaining some traction they switch to talk to carry him. But they failed once at it why try again.

Well, for one thing, 94.1 is a better signal than 96.5 so that would help them. Cumulus is a company that is quick to flip Talk formats though and will not give the time and resources needed to bulid an audience. I've read were they are in the same shape as Clear Channel as far as debt load so they need to make money as quickly as possible.

By the way, They still have a placeholder website for Great Country. That tells you alot what they think of the country format here in town.

Huckabee is on at Noon. Huckabee is actually gaining some ground. I think he is up to over 200 affiliates. It'll be interesting to see what KRC does, now that Savage will be live at 9PM. This could upend a bunch of things. I am pretty sure that my guys will not take Savage at 9 PM.

This could be the reason for the 'KRC translator. Who knows? ???
