Michael Savage

Maybe political "hot talk"? If you're a conservative who really gets annoyed by the inconsistencies, goofiness and bad ideas of "the left", but you are too polite to call them idiots, morons, bird-brains and in the case of Michael Jackson - drug addicts, then sit back, relax and let Savage do it. You'll leave the show feeling satisfied.
 
I am a liberal but I happen to think Savage is great! He is a take-no-prisoners host who is not afraid to express his opinion. That doesn't mean I am always in agreement with him. I take offense to much of what he says, but frankly he is brilliant in his presentation. To a certain degree, I emulate him, but on the left on my own program done in Spanish.
 
I enjoy Savage. Regardless if you agree with him or not...he does have passion LOL. Also, he is not afraid to go off into some "weird" areas....i.e. discussing his favorite recipes or talking about music...he doesn't stick with politics 100% and I like that. Last year at this time I was out of state visiting family and friends and came across an old friend that is extremely liberal. When she was in the car I turned Savage on to torment her....she did seem to change to a green color and start to be the Hulk...LOL but...one year later she is still listening to him roflol
 
Michael uses some insulting psuedonyms for other talk show hosts and media personalities he doesn't like. Bill O'Reilly is "The Leprechaun" based on his Irish descent. On other ones I don't know who he is referring to and what the connections are. Who is "The Wallbanger", and why that name? I think there's another one that might be "The Sheepherder". Who is that and what is the reference it's, predicated on, assuming I got the psuedonym right? Are there others I'm missing?
 
Pretty sure Savage's sobriquet Wallbanger refers to Rush.

There's no trace of a brogue in Long Islander O'Reilly's speech; he's Savage's Leprechaun thanks to the surname.
 
I am an independent and I like Savage when he goes after the Cable Media for being too propagandist like Fox, CNN and MSNBC. I also like Savage when he goes after Glen Beck, Rush, Hannity and Dobbs for knee-jerking the issues. Also I like Savage because he is one of the few talk show host who even criticizes his own beliefs on his show.
 
IMO, he has an extremely poor attendance record. He averages 1-2 days off a week, and frankly, I can't understand why advertisers would allow themselves to be robbed by his syndicator by paying full rate card and then the syndicator offers up some clown on by the name of Jeff Kuhner. It is an a absolute crime. In the case of other talkers like Beck and Hannity, advertisers know full well they are off the next couple of weeks, but Savage's erratic attendance is downright fraud for advertisers. What kills me is he admits he's a drunk..that's why he can't show up. Amazing

I never heard him admit that he's a drunk. The most recent time he was off for, I think, a whole week was just last week. He said it was because of some dental surgery. Then yesterday (Friday 12/18/09), at least on WRVA, the same show that ran yesterday was on. However, on WRVA they had technical difficulties on Thursday. The show didn't start on time. There was lots of dead air, with some commercials and promos thrown in occasionally. They finally pulled it together about 15 minutes into the program. Maybe they didn't have the difficulties repaired in time to receive the new program for Friday.
 
Wallbanger is Hannity because he was a construction worker before getting into radio. Savage figures SH is not the sharpest tool in the shed and has said that many times.

As for attendance he is pretty good and I cant understand the complaints. He work New Years Eve and New Years Day when most others were gone. The only complaint I would have is the last hour where there are many interviews and it is obviously taped regularly.

Probably the funniest name dropping he is is MSNBC's host Olbermann especially. He really has a dislike for him.
